Beach Season is a sparkling set of four bright novellas by master-storyteller Lisa Jackson, practical, deep thinker Cathy Lamb, Holly Chamberlin’s excellent analysis of relatives, friends and what makes or breaks them, and Rosalind Noonan, whose dash of mystery, lurking in the background, changing lives along the way, pulls you in for the ride. Traveling to lovely summer spots and see whole new vistas with casts of diverse, quirky, smart, scared, and determined characters. No wonder I could not put the book down.
Each author has a distinctive style; they are all writing about what happens to women (and those who love them) with effective, sharp, witty medium-light reading fare. Pack this with your summer things and enjoy fine writing, excellent character differences, and intriguing plots. You will find yourself – or something you know – in this fine collection, Beach Season.
